SPACEBAR & EXPO

SPACEBAR is ’the portal to the future’ where we explore and inspire the future of avant-garde art, design, gaming, dance culture and electronic music.

In our one-of-a-kind cyberpunk bar you’ll find a large selection of special beers, cocktails and damn good coffee. During the week there are talks and experimental performances and on the weekends there are big club nights with local and international DJs blasting techno, drum&bass, acid, electro and other electronic music through the speakers.

SPACEBAR is all about art, games and electronic music. You can regularly see visitors gaming together fanatically in the Gameroom or admiring the exhibitions and the raw futuristic interior while enjoying a drink. Welcome to another dimension!

HOLODECK & THE MUSEUM OF THE FUTURE

PLANETART, the bringer of the electronic (r)age since 1995, opens the Museum of the Future: an annually ongoing exhibition featuring the world’s famous artists and all of WARP Technopolis’ creative talents.

The Holodeck (1st floor) offers space for several exhibition spaces and 16 creative studios and artists in residences. On the Holodeck, you will find over 30 young talents, students, and entrepreneurs from all innovative sectors of the creative industry developing their skills and sharing their creativity.

Besides creative studios, the Holodeck also features the 360LAB: a 360 beamer and quadrophonic audio space where our young talents create new installations.

The Museum of the Future merges three floors of WARP (Black Brick basement, SPACEBAR & BACK ALLEY XPO and the Holodeck) and features a broad variety of interactive art installations, video installations, live performances, and more avant-garde work. During events, most of the 40 creative studios and expo spaces will be open for visitors. Get a beer, explore their art and meet everyone involved!

MOTF gives you the chance to get a glimpse of the future and experience the effect of innovations on our society through the artist’s eyes.

Sickhouse also hosts The Overkill, a playful festival based in Enschede bringing gaming, interactive art, fiction, and experiment together to question and celebrate our digital culture and its impact on our society.

In 2021 the festival is a 10 day physical and online event, with workshops, exhibitions, screenings, talks, challenges, meetups… The chosen topic is a common thread that links the different media and programs together, inviting participants and visitors to play and reflect together.
